Eater: Ari Taymor’s Santa Monica Brunch Pop-Up Goes Permanent, Adds Dinner Service

Good news for fans of Ari Taymor’s cooking, as the former Alma chef is taking his most recent pop-up project Little Prince permanent in Santa Monica. He and his crew will be shutting down their brunches as of today to make some material improvements to their Main Street property, then reopening on May 4.

Little Prince is Taymor’s first big project since shuttering Alma at the Standard at the end of last year. The pop-up is currently in month two of its weekend-only run, but will be adding near-daily dinner service next month, running Monday through Saturday. The building changes are likely to be minimal for the former Fork in the Road property, so expect a kind of casual dinner aesthetic potentially similar to what Tyler Wells is doing in the evenings at All Time in Los Feliz. Andrew Noel and Tegan Butler will be leading the redesign, while GM Steve LaFountain stays on to oversee the wine and cocktails for the whole place.

As for the dinner menu at Little Prince, Taymor says there’s nothing official to share. Rather, he and the crew will be focusing on farmers market ingredients and vegetable seasons to craft the same sort of laid-back meals that the brunch side of things already showcases so well.
