Chef Ari Taymor has resurfaced following the shutter of his West Hollywood restaurant Alma at the Standard late last year, emerging out in Santa Monica to run a new weekend-only restaurant that focuses on brunch.
The pop-up is to be called Little Prince, and it officially gets underway on Saturday. The idea is to take some of Taymor’s prodigious brunch powers — which he really flexed at the Standard property during its run — and turn them into a standalone concept for weekend revelers. There will be soft scrambled eggs, smoked salmon hash, chia seed pudding with sorrel, and Taymor’s buzzed-about patty melt. The full menu can be found online.
Alongside food, Taymor is partnering with Shane Murphy and general manager Steve LaFountain, who will be doling out breakfast cocktails for the Main Street space. This is the former Fork in the Road location (later 2424 Main Street), with Taymor and crew taking over for the next several months. It’s not a permanent move unfortunately, but Taymor tells Eater that he doesn’t have a timeline for just how long it will last, either. Expect Saturday and Sunday hours only from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at least for the next month or two; reservations can be made now.
